This was the second of two fics that I wrote the other night; but has grown from an attempted drabble, into a triple. It wanted to be short, but not as short as I originally thought it to be.

   TITLE: Forged Identities

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014 / [personal profile] kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

   CHARACTERS: Faith Lehane; Xander Harris;

   LENGTH: 300,

SUMMARY: How do the characters we know and love continue to deal with the losses; gains and changes in their lives.

A/N: This is set in the femalehusband!verse; where Willow is dead, Kennedy never knew her and Faith and Tara are, at this point in the timeline, now married and parents. They did put the cart before the horse, but I've always believed the horse should have the freedom to decide to what, or whom, it should be tethered. I've also borrowed a character from the comics; only mentioned here, but I liked her, and here she is very much alive. There is also a character mentioned here that jetwolf created for her Series8 continuation www.btvschosen.com/, which sadly seems to have died as a result of the much-to-be-cursEd Joss Whedon fanfiction which are the current comics (I love Satsu & Renee though).

The definition of Forged in the title comes from these meanings en.oxforddictionaries.com/thesaurus/forge, as in the the fire that forges steel; mythical rings etc...

X-man was waiting outside Buffy's office when she dropped off her report.

   “Why do you even patrol?
He watched her from the door; thought about telling him where to go, but he didn't wait for her.

“You have a family now,” and she followed his gaze to the new framed photo above her desk; her, Tara and the baby the day she'd given birth. Faith felt an unfamiliar sensation at that.

Heart tightening, she pushed past him and strode down the corridor to the coffee machine in the Commissary.

   He followed.

Of course he did; man had he cornered, morally, having helped her deliver her child... and because of what she'd nearly done to him. He could be like a dog with a bone about things like that.

Chrissie had also had a crush on him when she'd first arrived; never become a lover, like Renee; mostly because the X-Man always remembered when she was twelve.

How could she explain to him that she needed to kill the demons herself; before Kennedy got here. Not that anyone would blame her, but Kenn had responsibilities that didn't allow for personal revenge.

She would always be a Slayer even so, and Chrissie had been one of her first trainees; only her being thirteen had mitigated against her following Kenn to London all those years ago. She'd done Kennedy proud though; buying her own trainees the time they needed to escape.

He watched her preparing two cups of coffee; grunted and went off to make his trademark; near-as-fuck Fenway Dogs he'd created for her thirtieth birthday.

Watching the coffee dripping she wondered how to explain, so he'd understand.

Then something Buffy had told her many years ago came to mind; back before the Great Sundering, which had nearly killed them both.

“It's who I am,” she told him when he returned.
   They dined in silence.

Okay, so not the fic I was going to post next; wrote this one sometime last night (open office says I saved it at 23.41 hrs) ; rest of the details of its creation are in the authors notes (though I changed the title as I realised why it felt wrong last night; also I had to check a characters full name.

TITLE: After the Credits Are Over

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014 / [personal profile] kerkevik_2014

FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Movie/Comics/Series)

  CHARACTERS: Owen Thurman; Pike;

'SHIP: ?!? Excusing the obviously mischievous pun; sometimes a sausage is just a sausage.

SUMMARY: What happens to all those characters that don't last in Buffy's world? Do they change; learn; adapt?

A/N: Three quarters of an hour ago none of this existed; now we have a kind of Buffyverse version of the three characters walk into a bar story... I like my muse; she's constantly surprising me. We have a character here from the original movie; resurrecetd for the comic version of that movie's original script; as well as a sequel story, and we have a one-shot character from a first season story, who I've always wanted to write about; both of them I mean.

     The creature circled.

Okay, he was nursing a beer at the bar; still...

His bladder was full, but that wasn't why he wanted to piss.

   Then it got distracted.

   Someone had come in.

   Someone Human.

He watched them in the mirror.

He'd no sense for pheromones, but he felt no fear.

   In them anyway.

He'd have sworn minutes but, after a few seconds, the demon slunk off to a corner table.

The seat on his right had a new occupant.

“Name's Pike; sorry I scared your girlfriend away.

   Owen groaned. Girlfriend?

The owner chuckled as she handed Pike his beer.

Had a beautiful day travelling up the east coast of Scotland to Aberdeen; dark already, but I've had a wonderful time listening to a radio programme about the male voice choir formed around Aberfan two years after the disaster forty-eight years ago. Set my spirit tingling listening to them,

 Here's a drabble.

   TITLE: Lost in Transition

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014 / [personal profile] kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

   CHARACTERS: Buffy Summers; Rona;

   LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: With all the Slayers in the world; new ones coming all the time, without having to be one who replaces another who's died... what futures will open up for Slayers who don't want to be on the frontline anymore, now that this is an actual option?

A/N: Rona seems to be getting into my muse's brain, which is strange in one way because it wasn't until the final episode, really, that she really impinged on my consciousness. There's definitely more to come from her.

“You play so beautifully; why not use it?

   “It... Refuge.

Buffy could see where Rona was coming from.

   “You and Vi...

   “We're not a couple.

“... are amongst my most  trusted field commanders,” she continued, ignoring the unneccessary interruption. “Ever wondered why?” Buffy added, standing up.

She moved to sit beside Rona, on her; silent, side of the desk.

“That bond you have; you've built lives of your own.

   Rona smiled, “She's a geek.

“She also loves teaching; you both do.

   Rona glanced up; honestly perplexed.

“So teach, “ Buffy told her, who never learned. “Go teach the newbies how to life.

Always wanted to write some Shepherd Book; delve into who he had once been. I truly think he only utilised his past because he felt himself needed amongst the crew he found himself in; who so nearly broke him with his first experiences back out in the world, leading him to gain much needed salvation at Inara's hands.

TITLE: And from the Fire; shall the Spirit Rise

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014 / [personal profile] kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Firefly,

   CHARACTERS: Shepherd Book,

   LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: What was it that made the Shepherd?

A/N: Been listening to Hypable.com's rewatchable Firefly podcasts and, thinking ahead from where I was, saw the man he was and, possibly, ever would be; the Preacher being giving Benediction by the Whore.

     The Operative span the top.

     It played a tune.

Was years afore he knew what it was called.

All he heard was that tinny rendition.

All he smelt was the blood.

All he saw were the children.

     They were all children.

Picking up the Bible the Preacher had dropped he disappeared on his team.

And, like the Lion, he lay down with the lambs.

He warned Parliament not to pursue him; knew what they knew.

Left alone; wandering until he found the Abbey.

That day, he learned, the path to war was sealed.

Asked his name, he answered simply.

     “Book.

Last one for tonight, and for now. More to come, elisi's birthday presents tend to have lives of their own :-)

  TITLE: Safety Being the Key

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

  FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  CHARACTERS: Dawn; Lisa;

  LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: Not everything was dark for Dawn before Buffy's return; not in this 'verse.

A/N: Not a fan of fics about Dawn when Buffy was gone as a rule, but my muse wouldn't let me set this at any other time.

Leaning back into Lisa's arms; top of her head being kissed, Dawn somehow stayed concentrated on studying.

She felt safe; too safe sometimes.

Tara; Willow; Xander; Spike; they all watched her.

   Even Anya watched her.

She had Lisa to hold her now.

And Lisa's arms made her feel as safe as... her Mom and Buffy used to.

No longer a secret love, Dawn still started humming Doris Day, earning another kiss.

She hoped they could see her now; happy, even though they weren't here.

Her belly rumbled; reminding her of their trysts at Clem's crypt.

   “Fancy pizza and a movie?

Penultimate drabble, for now. Just over an hour to finish that last one.
  Liking the busy writer feeling.

  TITLE: Trust Being the Key

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

  FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer,

  CHARACTERS: Lisa and her Dad,

  LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: When do you start trusting your kids to be what you hope you've brought them up to be? That is the question. Lisa's spent virtually her entire life, with only one role model; though her dad would say she had two. Now its time to start letting her be her own role model.

A/N: Like I said; going backwards. Timey-wimey as the man said.

     “England? I can't go?

“Didn't figure you for missing school?” Lisa shrugged, as if to say, 'Can't blame me for asking.'

Her dad grinned, “Only going a week anyway. I'll miss your birthday, but you're mature enough to be left on your own.

She blushed when his tone made her glance up.

He knew exactly who she'd be inviting over for her birthday.

And what they'd likely be doing.

“I'm your old man, but don't think I've forgotten what being a teenager in love is like.

She felt tears well up; knowing her was seeing her mom as he spoke.

First of the three written pencil, but not transferred to Open Office, that I will hopefully be posting today. Then I have tostart writing more, as well as getting some of the other stories I have in my head down; non-Lisa/Dawn Buffyverse, as well as non-Buffyverse included.
 Back to work :-)

  TITLE: Love's Keys Unlocked

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

  FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  CHARACTERS: Lisa; Dawn;

  LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: Lisa and Dawn are now; when this is set, not only out; they are offically a couple now. If I have my high school years correct they are seniors here; also, as this is the femalehusband!verse, we are in the months immediately preceding the destruction of Sunnydale, more than a year after it happened in canon. We are also pre-Massachusetts marriage equality.

A/N: Definitely not a linear writer, as some of these sequences-within-sequences are being revealed to me almost in reverse order.

     “They never married?

Lisa shook her head, distractedly stroking her Dawn's breast; the one she could reach, as they relaxed after their first time.

Dawn struggled with the concept; sighing.

Despite her parents; Xander's family, or Willow's Mom, it somehow never occurred to her that it wasn't automatic to marry someone you wanted to be with, like forever.

Not that, being two girls, they could anyway.

   Legally anyway.

She gasped as Lisa nuzzled her neck, successfully distracting her.

Silently she was thanking Tara for refusing to give advice, as she responded to the magically unknown world she and Lisa were exploring together.

Only got four more to go before I have to get off my ass and compose some more of these fics; even some for outside Dawn and Lisa's world. Hope you've enjoyed reading these elisi , there are more to come.

TITLE: Reflecting the Shadows of a Mother's Love

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

  FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  CHARACTERS: Lisa; Dawn; Lisa's Dad;

  LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: Lisa reflections as Dawn approaches for her answer to a vital piece of news.

A/N: Extensive re-write on this one, as I realised I'd basically written the same story twice; one hundred words in both cases; this one, ironically reading better than the original of the other I'd already finished. This might prove interesting as a discussion topic at a later date.

“It doesn't matter how old she really is. You're feelings are just as real.

Lisa watched Dawn crossing the Quad from the Science building; Butterflies the size of Mothra doing manouvres in her stomach.

“I can't protect you forever; your Mother taught me that.

She started counting down from a hundred; simultaneously reciting the lyrics to Lucretia, My Reflection; they're song, as well as listing the periodic table – in reverse.

   She was nervous.

Her dad had just nodded; tears in his eyes, after she asked about her Mom.

“She cares about you, Lisa. Deeply.

So neither needed to add a word.

So dear elisi,  I believe I have a working title for all these drabbles. At this moment in time; since it became blindingly obvious that so many of these titles involved shadows, it shall be known as the Shadows series. Of course this may develop, but it will certainly do for now. I shall also need some thought on why, and whether Tara should, be passing Dawn's secret on. My muse is telling me that it comes from something in Tara's past, or psyche; further thought is needed though.

   TITLE: Shadows and Reflections

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  CHARACTERS: Lisa's Dad; Tara;

SUMMARY: Right, or wrong; parent or no, sometimes difficult choices have to be made.

A/N: Tara's been in some dark places; had to make some hard choices to survive. Easier for her to make them where the lives of others are involved.

Queueing, he contemplated what Tara Maclay had told him; eyes closed he tried not to worry, also wondering about getting a pastry.

“Can't protect them forever.” He jumped.

   “S-sorry, what did,

“I have to pee; couldn't get me a green tea?

Shaking, he nodded. Watching her make her way to the toilets he wondered if she was British, like his wife had been; when he met her.

Which led his thoughts back to his daughter, and the news that the girl she was in love with; no way he was about to fool himself there, was only a few months; possibly weeks old.

I have decided, since I popped this one on my open office files, that this takes place after  Lisa's departure from the family breakfast table a couple of drabbles ago. This however, does not negate what I say in the Author's Notes.

Fifth today of the run of drabbles meant as a birthday present for elisi .

TITLE: The Shadows Beyond a Father's Smile

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

   CHARACTERS: Lisa's Mom and Dad;

   LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: Just a brief POV of Lisa's Dad trying to figure out things.

A/N: Place this where you will; my feeling is this is not the only time Lisa's dad will have done this.

He sat down; smell of freshly roasted coffee in the air.

Pulling out his wallet he studied the picture of his wife holding the newly born Lisa.

Stroking it he tried to figure out what he would say to her. Lisa, reminded him so much of her; he'd never say this to her, it hurt.
She'd been; always made him smile, peacefully snoozing, and pooping, when her mother died.

How did you describe how love really felt; what it meant, anyway?

“Patience, my wee drummer-boy, “ her last, painfully whispered words, “we can't protect her forever. Fuck up, and I'll sure...

Dear elisi I've been forgetting to tag you; consider me chastened. In my defence I should have been sleeping,  but I',m worried about a friend whose being forced to choose between her cats and losing her council flat. She's choosing her cats of course, but she really needs the
stress right now. Trying to help, but very little I can do practically.

Anyway, here's number four of those seven I mentioned before (three others pencilled in to my notebook).

   More to come.

TITLE: Slayer's Soul; Next Level Unlocked

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

   CHARACTERS: Tara; Faith;

   LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: Who told Faith about Dawn? Certainly not the Watcher's Council, and who wanted to visit Faith out of the Scoobies. Maybe someone who's concerns are more about a person than the past.

A/N: This was the one that made this series part of the femalehusband!verse; also the fourth drabble to be written. I think I may be trying too hard to make all these drabbles; there are a couple of stories that are giving me trouble, but I have ideas (for fics not of this series as well) about those.

     “Fuck.

Tara wished she gambled for a moment.

   Faith sat down again, “How?

   Then... “Why?

Followed after seeing Tara's raised eyebrow, “Well yeah, I guess... but I'm still the Slayer?

Tara caught the question; knew the self-doubt.

“We don't know... Buffy isn't The Slayer, but...

   “She is.

“Yeah, “ Tara answered, even though Faith just seemed to be thinking aloud; probably wondering about things that hadn't happened.

   She'd been there.

Keeping her eyes on Faith, Tara's thoughts drifted; her worries over Willow; Dawn, and there was Lisa now too.

Faith's next question said more about her than she intended.

   “Is she safe?

Spent quite some time reconfiguring this one; lost two whole, much loved, lines because they spoiled the whole line of the dress i was trying to make. Still it feels much better now. We are right back to just after Joyce's funeral, and Dawn's 'adventure' with Spike afterwards.

TITLE: Shadows at the Key's Heart

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

   CHARACTERS: Dawn; Tara;

   LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: Her Mom is gone; Buffy is busy trying to fill her shoes, but Dawn's life refuses to stand still so she can catch her breath.

A/N: This is actually the earliest in the entire sequence; since the previous 'start' was later this same day.

Lisa's message staring back at her, accusing, whenever she switched her computer on.

Why had she been such a bee-yatch to her at Mom's funeral?

Dawn knew that Tara was here; refusing to blame her for their fight, when she wanted to be with Willow.

“Have to go back sometime, Dawnie; can't put school off forever.

She looked up, seeing Tara holding a plate out to her.

   “Pancakes?

Which only added to her guilt-y.

   She shrugged, and Tara pouted.

And the pancakes did smell nice, and breakfast suddenly seemed so normal.

   So did school.

Smiling at Tara, she e-mailed Lisa, and followed Tara downstairs.

Nearly allowed myself to get distracted again.

Before I get too much further, by which beyond the seventeen of these I have done so far; this is only the ninth to get posted, I must get these listed somewhere in their chronological order. Got Floodland playing again; my head-canon says this is Lisa's fave album (she has it on vinyl - and CD & MP3 & every other platform available; depending on whenever a story is set).

There's potential in how boyband loving Dawn & 80's goth (and probably in 2016 Afropunk loving Lisa) mesh their musical tastes; though I imagine a joint love of 80s music will help,

 Ack! Plot bunnies go'WAY!

Anyway more Lisa and her Dad (plot bunnies where are their names?)

   TITLE: Love's Shadow

   AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

   FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

   CHARACTERS: Lisa; her Dad & Dawn (in abstentia;

   LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: Lisa in the know now... the aftermath begins.

A/N: This girl who was in all of one scene; two if you're nitpick-y, is really in my head, so there's more of these to come. I've skipped here; there is another scene to be written – at least.

     “I'm not real!

The visceral pain Lisa felt; deep inside, hearing those words in her head made the hurt she felt when Dawn barely acknowledged her at her Mom's funeral.

Feel just as sharp really, but a pinprick in comparison.

Breathless at her absence as she felt, Lisa gathered herself before her Dad came into the kitchen; fought to keep herself together as he seemed to take forever to get his coffee and doughnuts.

As he prepared his bacon; eggs and toast, she quietly left for school.

She didn't see him sit down, breakfast absent; as he pondered her sadness.

  My apologies to elisi , to whom all these fics; still all drabbles, are dedicated as a birthday present, for the delay in getting back to posting these.   CHARACTERS: Lisa's Dad; Lisa; Dawn;

  LENGTH: 100,

SUMMARY: POV of Lisa's Father, on the cusp of Dawn's appearance in the Buffyverse.

A/N: I was wondering, as I was going through the other stories in this series, how other characters perceived Dawn's appearance in their lives, when she had not been there before; as we know.

She used to be so reluctant to get to School.

Dragging her feet until he had to drive her.

   He just couldn't recall when.

Now she was almost out the door before he'd started his breakfast.

How to figure out the change?

Deciding on a surprise pizza lunch; he'd been drinking coffee when he saw her laughing.

   Laughing.

His daughter having actual fun; joking with a young girl he'd not seen before.

   Or been told of.

She seemed as sad and solitary as Lisa usually was.

   She was growing up.

He trusted her to tell him when she was ready.

Almost got distracted into forgetting to post this today, but here 'tis. Another moment between Lisa and her Dad; really have to give him a name; them a surname (Mom included), but that can wait. It is, as are they are all, dedicated to elisi as a birthday present.

SUMMARY: Geeks are good; especially when they're a girl and her Dad.

A/N: So Lisa's been told who Dawn is now, this is set some time after.

     He just sat there; expressionless.

“I like her; I mean really like her. Like the way you talk about Mom like.

He settled into his best Han Solo pose and told her, “I know.” She glared, and he leant forward and stroked her hair, “I've known for weeks. You get the same look in your eyes as she did; how could I not?

“What about..?” She lost her capacity for speech; her father hadn't.

“What does it matter how old she is? Your feelings are obviously real; what else matters?

He held her hand and channelled Yoda, “Patience, my young Padawan; understanding will come in time.

She kissed his cheek, “I love you, Daddy.” All he could hear was her mother's voice.

Another in the series of Lisa/Dawn oriented fics; all drabbles thus far dedicated as a birthday present for elisi. This one is set during S6; though I'm not certain whether this is before, or after, Willow's death; not that it matters, as Buffy is busy at the Doublemeat Palace, and Tara is 'babysister-sitting' (could be said to be vamp-sitting as well of course).

SUMMARY: Love'em or hate'em, or never met'em; your parents are always watching you.

A/N: Another Tara the surrogate mom fic; dedicated to  beer_good_foamy since he likes'em...

Tara kept her eye on Dawn and Spike as they played; unconcerned since he hadn't yet realised he wasn't letting her win at poker anymore.

   Least it wasn't kittens.

And as long as Buffy never found out.

She was more thoughtful of Lisa and what was developing between her and Dawn.

   Words needed to be had.

   But with whom.

She closed her eyes; thoughts drifting to the only words of her mother's she'd ever seen.

“I can't protect you, Tare-bear, but I'll always be watching over you. Believe that.

   “Bollocks!

A/N: This is set at some point following Dawn's conversation with Tara; no worries over spoilers here, safe to say, in the tradition of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe, that Lisa is, as yet, unaware of Dawn's true origins.

Lisa raced up to the canteen table; late, but full of enthusiasm at the thought of seeing Dawnie. They'd no classes together today, and this might be her only chance at seeing her.

She felt her optimism begin to evaporate as she took in Dawn's expression.

   She'd been crying.

Breaking their rule she placed a hand on her new girlfriend's; they were still very new; they'd only just come out to themselves about it.

She wasn't certain she should worry that Dawnie didn't pull away.

When she did, it was reluctant; as if she was afraid.

   Now, so was Lisa.

This one was conceived ; written; edited and, now posted this morning as the latest in a set of fics written for elisi 's birthday.

  TITLE: The Shadows of Reality

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

  FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  CHARACTERS: Tara Maclay; Dawn Summers;

SUMMARY: People's fears and insecurities never go away really; some learn to hide them better that's all.

A/N: Sometimes I wish we'd seen more of Tara the Mom on the show; Willow being the Dad in most people's fanfics, which I can see actually, and honestly who would Dawn go to when things begin to develop with Lisa?

     “Gotta trust her Dawnie.

   Dawn muttered.

   “It's that simple.

Tara stared steadfastly back into Dawn's frustrated, miserably apologetic eyes. “What did you expect me to say?

Dawn laughed bitterly, “You're worse than...

   “You're sister?” Tara suggested.

“Mom,” completed Dawn, sticking her tongue out, apathetically, when Tara winked; thanking her for the compliment.

Hugging Dawn she told her softly, “She deserves to know, Dawnie.

“And I need to know whether this is real?

Tara's heart broke when Dawnie looked up at her, “How real am I?

Gripping her tight to her breast she answered.

“You feel real enough to me, Dawnie.

Third one this morning to be posted; all birthday pressies for elisi; this one was written after I woke up this morning, so definitely more to come, and about a dozen; including the ones already posted written.

TITLE: The Key for a Father's Love

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

  FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

  CHARACTERS: Lisa's father; Dawn Summers;

SUMMARY: Dawn thinks she's been so careful...

A/N: After the Valentine's fic, but early in their dating relationship; Dawn is still learning about her girlfriend's father...

“Not so formal Dawn; not as if this is a date after all, “ grinning wickedly as his offhand remark made her blush.

Had to keep the pain in check though; so much did it remind him of his wife.

Even after all this time he could hear Lisa's mother admonishing his evil humor, fresh pangs his just reward.

He could see so much of them in this girl and his daughter it was hard to remember they were still children. He had to though; hard not to think he could see their future.

He could only hope Lisa's was happier.

Another finished drabble in this set of birthday fics for elisi; don't know yet how many there will finally be (had the feeling that there were more to come, but I couldn't keep my eyes open).

  TITLE: Summers in the Shadows

  AUTHOR: kerkevik_2014

  FANDOM: Buffy the Vampire Slayer,

  CHARACTERS: Spike; Dawn Summers; Lisa; Clem; Buffy Summers; Tara Maclay;

SUMMARY: For some creatures promises mean more than their own safety.

A/N: This is set after Dawn and Lisa have started dating, but before their relationship is public; especially where Buffy is concerned.

Obeying his own conscience; rather than the witches threats, he watched them from the shadows.

For her mother's sake; their mothers' sakes in fact.

In any case Clem had let their secret out long since; inwardly pleased the Slayer didn't know.

He had the same respect for the kid's dad Tara did; man had a reputation that impressed him almost as much as his daughter.

He'd learned never to underestimate someone just because she was a girl, and the kid was as tough as any Slayer; tough enough to be a Summers woman in fact, he chuckled quietly to himself.
